Jerusalem Mayor Helps Open SAE for the New School Year

Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon was on hand for the school year opening ceremonies at Shacharit High School,  Israel’s first co-ed religious high school in the spirit of High Tech High.

The mayor participated in a festive ribbon cutting ceremony, met and talked with students and staff and helped plant a tree in the school yard. The school principal, Roni Hazon Weiss and the educational team briefed the mayor on Shacharit’s unique curriculum and learning methods. He was impressed with the educational projects and innovative structure.

Accompaying the mayor were Aviv Kinan, the head of the Jerusalem’s Education System, Hagit Moshe, the deputy mayor of Jerusalem and the holder of the education portfolio, and Emmanuel Zilberman, Director of  State and State-Religious Education in the Jerusalem Education Administration.

Yossi Ashkenazi, chairman of the board of the Society for Advancement of Education (SAE)  and Eitan Moran, SAE Executive Director, led the mayor and his entourage during the event.

The whole Shacharit School community thanked the mayor for his visit and the warm partnership with SAE.
